Internet Explorer 8Internet Explorer 8 has been released to the public. I had tried recent IE8 betas and encountered some problems. Before installing IE8, I ran the test shown below. The result is promising: IE8 used more than 10% less memory than IE7 with the same websites open.

I would recommend that Windows users upgrade Internet Explorer to version 8.

The release includes the following features:

Accelerators
Enhanced navigation (Compatibility View, Enhanced Tabbed Browsing,Better Find On Page ,Smarter Address Bar, etc.)
Increased performance
Improved favorites and history management (Enhanced Favorites Bar, One Click Favorites, RSS feeds on Favorites bar)
Instant search
Web Slices

With the same four sites open, IE8 uses 13 MB less memory. I will fix my header. Click here to download IE8.
