Lenovo: Why I would reinstall the X200 notebook

I took the Lenovo X200 out of the box and went through the Windows Vista wizard. The English MUI was installed, and it took 10 minutes before I could do anything.

The system has an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU running at 1.86 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. Based on those specifications, I expected it to be quick and easy to use. Look at the processes and memory usage below. I had only started winword in addition to the existing processes to create the screenshots.

This is not a setup I would use in a corporate environment. Even for personal use, I would not recommend the hardware vendor’s OEM installation. I was surprised by how much software was included on top of Windows.
